Education for every African

Our Commitment: At ONE DIASPORA, we believe that education is the most powerful tool for transforming lives, families, and communities. It breaks cycles of poverty, opens doors of opportunity, and empowers individuals to shape their own destinies. Yet across Africa and the global diaspora, millions of children and young people are denied access to quality education simply because of where they were born or the circumstances into which they were born.

Our Education Empowerment Program is our answer to this injustice. We are committed to ensuring that every member of the African diaspora—regardless of age, background, or location—has access to the education they need to thrive.

The Challenge

  • 118 million children across Africa are out of school

  • Only 10.8% achieve minimum proficiency in reading and math

  • 7 out of 10 complete primary school without basic literacy skills

For diaspora communities, barriers include language gaps, cultural disconnect, financial constraints, and systemic discrimination.

Our Approach

A holistic approach—education is about the whole person, family, and community.

Program Components

1. Scholarships & Financial Support

Academic scholarships, need-based grants, school supplies, and emergency support remove financial barriers.

Impact: Every scholarship keeps a child in school.

2. Mentorship & Guidance

Students are connected with professionals who share their background, offering academic guidance, career advice, and encouragement.

Impact: Mentorship shows young people their dreams are achievable.

3. Leadership Development

Young people are equipped with leadership, public speaking, advocacy, and project management skills.

Impact: Every young leader becomes a multiplier of change.
